We’re still trying the wines from Montes – last night’s offering was the Montes Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Judging by the price ($A8.50) the Reserve is the second label.

Where the Reserve Merlot was a pleasant surprise, unfortunately the Reserve Cab Sav was a huge disappointment with a nose that was dusty, sappy, and remeniscent of tea bags. The palate displayed overpowering tannins, green stalks, was out of balance and any fruit was killed by the tannins. Very Disappointing.
