Dog Ridge Vineyard DV& 2003 Shiraz

A review from Huon Hooke in today’s Sydney Morning Herald rates this wine as a top Aussie red:

“I’ve tasted several impressive reds from this new McLaren Vale brand. This was the pick. A traditional Aussie red, it has richness and sweet fruit as well as savoury flavours, liberal tannin and some viscosity. A touch of elegance and really very drinkable. Drink now to 2012.”

Huon goes on to suggest that it would match well with aged cheddar.

DogRidge is a family owned operation of 140 acres located at the base of The Southern Mount Lofty Ranges overlooking the McLaren Vale wine region. A premium South Australian wine-growing region, it is known for its consistency and reliability.
