Bought as a single bottle to try at home with wagyu steak with mushroom and red wine jus. The wagyu was disappointing but the wine was not. The winemakers notes below pretty much sum it up –
‘A vibrant plummy red in colour. On the nose, there are lifted BlackCurrant and briary fruit, expressive of Cabernet Sauvignon, with pure cinnamon and chocolate spice. The palate has leafy, herbaceous notes and rich dark fruit flavours. Well-rounded and velvety, the tannins are ripe and focussed.’
And our notes were………
COL; very deep red, almost black.
NOSE: cedary oak, dark plums, chocolate, whiff of pepper and some licorice; did not get the blackcurrant.
PAL; rich and luscious, silky velvety smooth. Some lovely savoury herbacious notes, chocolate with ripe tannins and a gorgeous finish.
Would not mind a few in the cellar. Wish had taken the 6!
