As Sydney’s summer continues it is difficult to go past a rosé that we haven’t tried before. Yesterday we came across a bottle of Cowra Estate 2003 Cabernets Rosé.
After our previous experiences a week or so ago with the Turkey Flat rosé and even the Moondah Brook Rose, the Cowra Estate was a bit of a disappointment. It had an almost candy-like sweetness but also a discordant bitter note on the palate. This one is unlikely to find a place in our wine cellar.
We’ve given up the search for the Lillydale Pinot Rosé – apparently it is only available at the cellar door
