Huon Hooke says:
“The Xanadu wines are much improved since the Rathbone family (of Yering Station) have been in charge. They are more polished and are unusually keen value for money. Perhaps it’s because the brand needs rebuilding but it’s time for you and me to cash in. This is an unwooded style that is somewhat chablis-like: very crisp with a minerally, fine-boned intensity that relies on fruit, not sweetness. You can drink a couple of glasses without gagging on timber. Great value and probably available even cheaper if you shop around. Drink over the next year or two.”
Food suggestions: crab and avocado or smoked salmon and avocado entrees; prawn cocktail, fish and chips; chicken caesar salad.
