A nice little Carmenere for the price, brought by a friend to dinner. This varietal is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Classic green pepper and tobacco on the nose, with dark fruit and black cherry on the palate, with a hint of smoke. Screams QPR and paired wonderfully with BBQ and sunshine.
This is textbook Carmenère – green pepper on the nose combined with cigar box and spice. These flavours are echoed on the palate along with black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla and ripe tannins. There is enough acidity to nicely balance out all the rich flavours and the spicy finish goes on and on.
